For the Volvo Cars event space in Los Angeles, we stripped the environment down to its absolute essentials, removing all decorative noise to prioritize spatial clarity. The architecture of the intervention relies entirely on two functional elements: calibrated floor lighting and heavy dividing walls. These structural partitions were faced with large-scale imagery of actual factory workers from the real Volvo manufacturing plant, physically embedding the brand’s “people first” ethos into the material fabric of the space. It is a refined, low-intervention design that communicates its purpose through light and human scale.
