We developed an extensive transformation plan for a historic slaughterhouse facility in Stockholm’s Slakthusområdet, reimagining the industrial relic as a hybrid concert hall and workspace. Rather than working against the existing brick architecture, we integrated into it by developing a custom, site-specific brick. This structural element serves a dual purpose: it respects the physical heritage of the historic district while simultaneously solving the complex acoustic demands of a live performance space. The intervention proves that historical preservation and intense functional performance can exist within the same material language.
