In redesigning a classic synthesizer for Elektron, our objective was to improve human ergonomics without diluting the machine’s iconic, boxy silhouette. We introduced a subtle, functional angle to the chassis interface and engineered a versatile, modular platform that allows the top control plate to be swapped out for different models. Beneath the unit, calculated surface transitions create a natural, tactile grip while clearing physical space to interconnect multiple machines. The result is a sleek, hardworking tool that preserves Elektron’s industrial heritage while prioritizing structural utility and workflow versatility.
